Building Our Social License

UPI's Core Value Of Caring And How It Creates Social Licenses For Your Project And Our Industry

UPI values caring. You don’t see this advertised from many contractors in our industry. This principle guides us toward our legacy. We are committed to building a culture of social responsibility and commitment that demonstrates caring and strengthens our legacy through:

  • Investing in the local communities in which we work and live
  • Providing more than financial value through active participation
  • Supporting and recognizing our employees’ individual charitable efforts

UPI goes beyond the norm of corporate citizenship. Our business takes us all over North America and we recognize that is a tremendous opportunity to be a positive influence in the local communities where we operate. We're proud to report that over the last few years, UPI has had 828 instances of employee volunteerism, our employees donated 4,735 hours of their time for volunteerism, we supported 187 causes and organizations, and we supported organizations in 4 countries and 11 states.

UPI is committed to being an advocate for our industry. We are members of numerous associations including Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA), Pennsylvania Independent Oil & Gas Association (PIOGA), Pipeline Contractors Association (PLCA), and Energy Equipment and Infrastructure Alliance (EEIA). Our business attends many events in support of the work we and others do in the industry that supports our livelihood. We’ve organized and hosted pro-pipeline events and rallies at public hearings for major pipeline projects and have been involved with countless other public hearings, events, and meetings to show our support.
