Dairyland Outdoor Veterans Retreat Support

Dairyland, WI is soon to be the home a brand new Outdoor Veterans Retreat that will offer all veterans experiences in a healthy recreational setting with retreat facilities and campgrounds. Dairyland is located on Highway 35 between Danbury and Superior, WI. The facility is located on Radigan Flowage and offers an abundance of nature, lakes, rivers, woodlands, and wildlife. The facility will contain campsites and an RV park, individual cabins, and a multipurpose lodge – all of which will be handicap accessible. Dairyland Outdoors Veterans Retreat, or DOVR for short, is a non-profit organization which was formed by a group of Wisconsin citizens whose goal is to “provide [our military heroes] a peaceful environment to enjoy the great Northwood’s lakes, ATV and snowmobile trails, and hiking.”

For the past several years, UPI has been a proud supporter of DOVR. UPI has donated man power and equipment to install several site features that form the current layout of the campground. A few years back, DOVR had asked UPI about installing a water main/services, sewer mains/services, and the site’s wastewater treatment system. In early November of 2018 the stars aligned, and UPI had the crews and equipment available to donate and we were able to install the at-grade wastewater treatment system and water main and service laterals to the future buildings DOVR hopes to construct. We’re excited to be able to contribute to the project and look forward to seeing what comes next for DOVR!

“I just wanted to send a quick note to say THANKS a bunch! It never would have gone as well as it did out at DOVR without your help. The guys I worked with were top notch. Adam, Tom, Mike and Mitch are all great guys and I really appreciate their get ‘er done attitude! Again, thanks for everything!”
