Certifications In July of 2000, UPI became a fully certified UA fabrication shop with ASME certification for "U" vessels, "R" repairs and "PP" piping. This means that the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (NBBI) recognizes and certifies UPI's work as follows: "PP" - Authorized to fabricate and/or assemble power piping. "R" - Authorized to perform repairs and/or alterations. "U" - Authorized to manufacture and assemble pressure vessels. UPI is certified by ASME and NBBI These certifications verify/certify that UPI is capable of meeting your fabrication needs, regardless of the pipe size, wall thickness, material grade or project complexity.
