About UPI
United Piping, Inc. (UPI) is a general/mechanical contracting company. We have been in business for more than 40 years and are located in Duluth, Minn. Click the buttons on the left to learn more about our certifications and affiliations, and our commitment to safety and the environment.
When it comes to shipping fabricated pipe, in addition to conventional trucking and rail, our location on Lake Superior offers us easy access to the Port of Duluth-Superior, one of the largest inland seaports in the world and the largest port on the Great Lakes. While our work has primarily been in the Midwest, we are prepared to expand our reach at any time.
2007 marked the 10 year anniversary of UPI, but our history goes back farther. Our company grew from Ogston's Inc., which enjoyed 35 years in business and helped build the strong reputation our company has today as a reliable, safe, and quality contractor.
In February of 1997, Bob Schoneberger, P.E., president, and Dave Rickard, vice president general superintendent, purchased the assets of Ogston's Inc., and formed UPI. In May 2000, UPI built a facility that tripled our shop's capacity and further expanded our fabrication capabilities.
